Tim Holtz Reinker Technique Picture Tutorial

Hey everybody! Thanks for all the love you have given me for my Boys and Their Toys card. I think you all love it just as much as I do! Many of you asked me how I made the background paper. While I was making it, I had a feeling people were going to ask me that so I took pictures as I was doing it. Here is a picture tutorial on how to make this amazing background.

Step 1: You will need very few supplies for this technique. They are: a bottle of TH Reinker, a nonstick craft sheet, a heat gu, a spray bottle of water and a paint brush (I used s small one for the thinner handle)

Setp 2: Drop a few drops of ink onto your craft mat. I started with 2 drops since I wasn't sure how this was going to come out. I later incresed to about 5 drops.

Step 3: Spray your area with water. Make sure you spray a wider area than your ink drops cover.

Step 4: Using the wooden tip of your paint brush, start to swirl the ink and the water around together. This will start to make smaller drops/pools of ink. It will also thin the ink out with the addition of the water.

Step 5: When you have spread out your ink, take your piece of white cardstock and tap into your drops/pools of ink. Cover as much are as you can and soak up all the ink. Turn your paper over so the ink side is up. The paper will probably be curled but don't worry. It will straighten out in the next step.

Step 6: Using your heat gun, dry the paper. You will notice that the intensity of the color will lighten. You will probably only need to heat it 15-20 seconds for it to dry.

Repeat steps 2-6 until you get the look you want. I made 3 layers on the background for my card. I just love this technique because you don't know what your final result is going to be and that is a little exciting for me. I can't wait to try this with some other colors.
I hope you like this tutorial! Please share any projects you complete with this technique with me. I would love to see what you create and be inspired! TFL!!!
