The Perfect "Pear" Couples Card

I went a little cartridge crazy in June. I got 6 new carts! I know, I know. But I got some good deals on them since most of them came from eBay. One of them was Preserves, which served as the inspiration for this card.

I noticed how they had so many differnt cuts of pears on there and decided to use them to my advantage. I like to put a "play on words" in my cards and these pears played right into my game. Here are the details.

Carts
  • Sweethearts - 'The Perfect..."
  • Preserves - everything else.

I used a really pretty cream for the background and accents on the pears. I inked the edges of the card with my Wild Wasabi ink pad from SU! (this was a seasonal color a couple of years ago and I am so glad I got it). I love the way the pears came out!

When I cut out the sentiment, it had the word "Pair" on it. I cut that off and replaced it with the word "Pear' from the preserves cart.

****There is something hidden on this card or rather not that overt. The first person to guess what it is and leave a comment on my blog will receive some blog candy from me! Good Luck!!!

Smooches,

Robin

  4. I love your card and was just thinking today that I HAD to have this cart and haven't used it yet... what am I thinking?? It's a great cart and I love how you 'peared' it with the Sweethearts cut. The only thing I can think of is that one pear is male and one is female... I'm a bit slow tonight!

  6. Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding!!!! We have a WINNER!!! Congratulations to Brandy! She was the first person with the correct answer! In my post I stated that I like to use "plays on words" in my cards. So the "pear" really means "pairs". Who would you make a card like this for? A pair of newly weds or an engaged couple. So the "pears" are a male (seeds are buttons on his shirt) and female (the flower on her and the leaf is ponytail/hair). Thanks for playing along and keep visiting me!
